Brad had been planning his proposal to Elizabeth for a VERY long time and aside from the pouring down rain that was drenching us, everything went according to plan. Elizabeth is an architect and it has always been a dream to visit Fallingwater. Knowing this, Brad decided to conjure up a fake work related convention happening in Pittsburgh and she was going to tag along for fun. He flew their families up to be there with them and proposed to her at the iconic view. I can't think of a more perfect way to propose!
In past posts, I have let the images speak for themselves but the back story of this session is so good, I have to tell you all about it. This is Carl and Alexis and it's their 25th wedding anniversary. Carl told me he was really excited to have a photographer because he had a really big surprise for his wife to celebrate their 25 years together. He went on to say that they don't have any wedding photographs of their day because the original photographer lost them. True story. So, Carl rented the Broderie Room at Phipps so he could recreate as much of their day as he could for Alexis. He had all of the details worked out. He played the same songs, ordered similar flowers and even bought the same Prantl's Almond cake they had on their wedding day. Not a dry eye around, I think Carl may have won at the Anniversary gift giving game for life.
Cassie & Rick's 4th of July weekend wedding was so tender. Surrounded by friends and family, these two said I do in a simple ceremony at the Double Tree in Washington, Pa. Congratulations to you both, thank you so much for having me. xo
Jessica and Garret's wedding at Greendance Winery was so beautiful; the scenery of the winery, the weather and above all, the amount of love and joy present. Thank you so much Jessica and Garret for having me and making me so incredibly welcome. xo
When Meghan & Anuj asked if I could photograph their engagement session on the farm next to her childhood home, I was so excited. The land, the light, the best couple, the HORSES. Everything about this session was perfect. They were adventurous, fun and didn't bat an eye at my seemingly ridiculous requests. Thank you both for such a wonderful time, I can't wait to photograph your wedding this fall.
It was only a few months ago that Bill contacted me to say that he was going to propose to his girlfriend, Kirsten. The Pittsburgh Pirate's games hold a special place for these two, so it was only fitting that he chose the Clemente Bridge right before a game, to ask Kirsten to marry him. Let me just say that everything about this proposal; the planning, the anticipation and the excitement was THE BEST! Halfway across the bridge, Bill got down on one knee and with Kirsten's aunt's heirloom ring and asked her to marry him. Of course, the answer was yes! It may have been just another gloomy day in the city to some but to these two it was the best day. Bill and Kirsten, thank you for having me there to capture your proposal for you and congratulations!
