Wedding, birth and lifestyle photography; illustrative stories for life and love.

Photography has always been a passion of mine. Photojournalism, in particular, caught my eye at a very young age through a set of TimeLife photography books my father owned. I was fascinated. The emotion that poured through them and their ability to make you feel like you were a part of that experience was one of the most amazing things I, at that point in my life, had ever encountered. Those books kept me entertained well into college but it was in high school that I realized photography was what I wanted to do forever. It was the darkroom and the magic that would happen there. The whole process of making, developing and watching images appear was spectacular; otherwise fleeting moments becoming tangible and permanent.

I went on to study photojournalism as a major and it has shaped the way I make photographs. My illustrative style, which is a cross between documentary and traditional photography, helps me create the story of your wedding and show your individuality. My goal is to always make my couples feel comfortable enough to show their true selves and to make their memories as genuine as the words they speak to each other that day. I have a relaxed and personal approach that alleviates the stress and nervousness of the day. I will be there to document every moment and it will be those images that allow you to feel and experience your day over and over again for many years to come.

Who I am: I am an artist. A lover of film, art, design, music, roller coasters and amazing light. I love sushi dates, game nights with friends, exploring with my partner, Chasity, and cuddling with my Puggle, Marcel. I play guitar well enough that I'm actually able to say that I play the guitar. I'm a pretty awesome cook and conquering really difficult recipes gives me a great sense of accomplishment. My most recent victories were Icelandic Skyr and French Macarons. Wanderlust runs in my blood; I love road trips, traveling to exotic places and dream of owning my own Airstream.

What are the steps to booking you for our wedding / portrait session?

Just take a peek at the "Say Hello!" link in the menu at the top of my site. Provide the details of your event or portrait in the contact form. I'll be in touch to let you know if I'm available.

When should we book you?

There is a lot more flexibility with portraits, so book at any time and we will find a date together that fits. The newly engaged folks often book their wedding a year or more in advance, but it's safe to say that most book around 6-12 months before their wedding date. Please keep in mind that finding a wedding photographer is much like estate sale rules: You want to be there early to catch the gems!

Do you travel for weddings?

I mainly work in Pittsburgh, however, I would be more than happy to travel for your event. I love a good road trip!

What is your experience with photographing weddings?

Anything from intimate backyard gatherings to lavish events. I've had the pleasure of working alongside some amazingly talented local photographers and have shot a variety of different ceremonies from Catholic, Jewish, Greek Orthodox, LGBTQ, Muslim, Episcopalian, self-officiating to Hindi. I'm excited to hear about the customs and details of your day!

When will our photos be ready?

Your digital proofs will be ready in an online gallery within 4-6 weeks of your wedding. Digital proofs of your portrait session will be ready in about 3-4 weeks.

What is your photographic style?

I consider my style to be illustrative, it's a nice combination between photojournalistic and traditional with an artistic and modern twist. I also like to think that it's a bit romantic and organic. I love the spontaneous moments, the ones that tell a story and show raw emotion but I also love the posed photographs and the interactions that are created that really bring out your personalities. If this sounds like it's right up your alley, I think we'd make a great fit!

Do you offer a second photographer?

Most of my photography is done on my own so that I can provide a more intimate setting however, I do offer a second photographer if one is needed.

Do you offer wedding packages?

Nope! Because every couple is unique I find that "packages" often don't work. What I do instead is provide a starting price point and let you build a completely custom package of your choice, a la carte style. However, my base pricing has absolutely everything you need

What is your pricing?

Portraits begin at $395. Weddings begin at $3800 and include: 8 hours of coverage, a digital gallery to download or share images with family and friends, a custom USB with gift box, the usage rights to your images and a complimentary one hour session to plan your day.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, check, Visa and Mastercard.

What kind of cameras do you use?

I use professional quality Nikon equipment with backups. If you would like to know more details, I will gladly nerd out with you!

Do you have liability insurance?

I am fully insured through The Motorists Insurance Group.

If the answer to your question isn't listed here, please send me a message. I would be happy to address any concerns you might have!

Portrait Sessions

Since all our children and grandchildren were in for the holidays, I decided to have a family picture day. I couldn’t have chosen a better photographer than Kristy. Not only does she have a very artistic eye, she knew how to relate to everyone from the 68 year old to the 8 month old. I would highly recommend her for your shoot.

Kristy is professional, kind and courteous and a pleasure to work with! I loved and appreciated her desire and determination to capture the story of our event; she genuinely cared about the photos she was providing us, and it showed. I am beyond pleased with the gorgeous photographs taken of our daughter’s baptism and look forward to working with Kristy again in the future.

Kristy came to my house for a photo shoot for my one month old. The pictures turned out beautiful. She spent hours at my house, working with me and my baby girl to capture just the right photos and poses that I was looking for. She took posed as well as candid photos and they all turned out great. She also took family pictures outside, even including our dog. I would highly recommend Kristy for your family and/or baby pictures!
— Beth McCall
Kristy was wonderful while shooting our daughter’s new born photos. She was sweet and gentile with Hazel and extremely understanding when Hazel had an accident during shooting. The entire process was quick and she was able to capture some truly beautiful photos. We will cherish them always and recommend Kristy’s services.

Weddings

We hired Kristy to photograph our wedding. She arrived early and was very professional in dealing with me and my crazy family. At the ceremony, she managed to capture the special moments as my husband and I spoke our vows to each other. During the reception, nobody even noticed Kristy was there, but she caught every hilarious and special moment that occurred throughout the night. I love every single one of my photographs!
— Alexandra & Kenny Pascuzzi

Kristy was a joy to work with. Her friendly, laid-back attitude helped us to feel relaxed as we were getting ready for the wedding. During the ceremony, I didn’t even realize she was there, although she got some great shots! Kristy was flexible; she had some good ideas for poses and allowed us to try out some of our own fun ideas. Our pictures turned out to be beautiful. Thank you!
— Leia & Eric Anderson
You did an amazing job capturing our wedding day. We love the pictures, they are absolutely beautiful. (We) got more than a few compliments about you at the wedding – how creative, relaxed and fun you were. My mom, especially, was SO impressed by you! So I wanted to make sure I passed along the compliments. Scott and I couldn’t have been happier with the way the pictures went. It was so fun and easy working with you!
