Hey there! Thanks for stopping by to get to know me a little bit better. Let me tell you a little about myself. I'm the owner of Kristy Lumsden Photography. I discovered photography at a very young age and it has always been a passion of mine. Photojournalism, in particular, caught my eye through a set of TimeLife photography books that were handed down to me and I was fascinated. The emotion that poured through them and their ability to make you feel like you were a part of that experience was one of the most amazing things I, at that point in my life, had ever encountered. Those books kept me entertained well into college but it was in high school that I realized photography was what I wanted to do forever. It was the darkroom and the magic that would happen there. The whole process of making, developing and watching images appear was spectacular; otherwise fleeting moments becoming tangible and permanent.
I went on to study photojournalism as a major and it has shaped the way I make photographs. My illustrative style, which is a cross between documentary and traditional photography, helps me create the story of your wedding and show your individuality. My goal is to always make my couples feel comfortable enough to show their true selves and to make their memories as genuine as the words they speak to each other that day. I have a relaxed and personal approach that alleviates the stress and nervousness of the day. I will be there to document every moment and it will be those images that allow you to feel and experience your day over and over again for many years to come.
Who I am: I am an artist and activist of LGBTQ rights. A lover of film, art, design, music, roller coasters and amazing light. I love sushi dates, game nights with friends, exploring with my partner, Chasity, and cuddling with my Puggles, Marcel and Baxter. I play guitar well enough that I'm actually able to say that I play the guitar. Wanderlust has been in my blood for as long as I can remember; I love road trips, traveling to exotic places and dream of owning my own Airstream.
